Work Placements

It is the nature of the professional modelmaking industry that a successful graduate will have a range of contacts to build on after leaving AUCB. We take this need seriously and aim to complement professional knowledge with an understanding of the context in which modelmakers work.

Students are encouraged to make use of the links that we have with the modelmaking industry for work placements from the beginning of the second year onwards. Many of our students spend summer and Easter vacations as practicing modelmakers, assistants and interns.

The second year unit ‘Commercial Exploration’ focuses on the study of professional practice. This unit provides the opportunity for a work placement or a series of visits to established modelmaking practices.
