We have different accommodation options for students studying on our 2012 Specialist Summer Courses. These options depend on what is available during the time of study with the Arts University College at Bournemouth (AUCB). Students are also able to book their own accommodation if they prefer.*
We will send students further information of the accommodation they have been allocated once their place on a course has been confirmed.
Types of accommodation
The AUCB can arrange two different types of accommodation for students stuyding on our Specialist Summer Courses:
Home stay
We are able to arrange for some of our summer students to stay with host families in and around the Bournemouth area. Students will live in a private home and will often be provided with breakfast and an evening meal by their host families.
We have a limited amount of host families during the summer so students will be allocated these accordingly. If you are offered a room with a host family, we will put you in touch with them before you arrive in Bournemouth.
Student halls of residence
The AUCB have their main student halls of residence in Bournemouth town centre, called Bourne Chambers. These have 4 self-contained flatlets and 24 study bedrooms (single beds) with their own toilets and showers. There are communal kitchens and lounge facilities on each floor. All halls have broadband internet connections.
We also have the use of a newly built halls of residence for our summer students, which are also located in the town centre.
Both of our student halls of residence include bedding and linen.

If you would like to book your own accommodation we suggest you visit this website: www.bournemouth.co.uk/site/accommodation. This site gives a list of hotels, B&Bs and hostels in the area.
*If you do arrange your own accommodation please note that the course fees will reduce by £100 per week as listed on the course pages.
Please note: the AUCB are not able to refund students for any transport or accommodation booked or any other additional costs so it is advisable to get confirmation of a course running before incurring other associated expenses. Due to minimum student numbers required, we are not able to confirm that a course is running until April 2012.

Courses not including accommodation
Our current summer courses which don’t include accommodation are:
- Photography Summer Courses – 1 week courses. The fees for these courses do not include accommodation but if this is required, please contact us on 01202 363222.
