Discover the world of professional make-up artistry for film, television and theatre.
This very practical course will develop your understanding of the different products, materials and application processes used within the performance, film, theatre and television industry. It is ideal if you are interested in exploring professional make-up and want to find out what it is all about.
You will learn how to research and create make-up designs; work with different face shapes and develop application techniques, such as highlighting and shading, concealing and blending make-up.
You will be introduced to special make-up effects including basic prosthetics and accurate casualty make-up.
Taught in our state of the art make-up studio by a skilled member of our Make-Up for Media and Performance team, this course will give you the opportunity to work in a realistic, professional and comfortable working environment.
Entry requirements:
There are no entry requirements other than the motivation and interest to pursue the subject.
What you need to bring:
Your own set of professional make-up brushes and brush cleaner (see appendix for suppliers).
- Facial tissues and baby wipes/face wipes (e.g. Tesco or Wilkinsons)
- Mascara (see appendix for details)
- Liquid eye liner (see appendix for details)
- Cotton wool
- Cotton buds
