Life Drawing

Summer term

  • Monday 16th Apr – 2nd Jul 2012
(no classes on 7th May and 4th Jun 12)

Are you inspired by the great artists and wish to lean how to draw the human form?

Whether you have attended classes previously or perhaps have never drawn the human figure, whatever your ability,

you will receive a warm welcome and can be assured of a first-class experience.

Working through a structured programme of drawing skills which include linear and tonal studies, recording active poses, making more considered drawings which include measuring and proportion, you will gain confidence in your observational drawings of the human form.

Our very experienced tutors will encourage you to be both personal and expressive in your response whilst drawing a variety of interesting and experienced models, both male and female, exploring an array of drawing materials and markmaking.

Whilst receiving teaching as a group, you will also be supported and encouraged by the tutor on an individual basis. You will enjoy developing your skills alongside a wide mix of individuals with this shared interest.

There are no entry requirements to join this course other than the motivation and interest to pursue the subject.

What you will need to bring:

A1 good quality cartridge paper (white), A2 cartridge paper (white), drawing pencils 2B-6B, rigger watercolour brush, plastic type eraser, putty type eraser (preferably Lyra or Faber Castell), white and coloured chalk, charcoal sticks (various thicknesses). Sugar paper can be purchased from the tutor during the course.
