Go on, give it a go! Explore your artistic and creative capabilities.
This very varied course offers a rewarding and beneficial way to spend time learning and experimenting within the creative environments of the Arts University College at Bournemouth, as well as local galleries.
Through a series of exercises, designed to help you explore a range ofcreative practices, you will have the opportunity to experiment with drawing, painting and basic printmaking techniques.
Using a wide range of media, you will learn about composition, measuring, negative space, tone, and quality of line, colour theory, perspective and much more. The 6 evening classes will take place in the studios at the Arts University College campus.
This will be complimented, by two full day Saturday sessions, at local galleries or on location in and around Bournemouth and Poole.
During the Spring and Summer terms, one of the daytrips will be to the stunning Brownsea Island and the other to historic Poole Quay. These are the perfect places to take inspiration and practice your new found skills.
There are no entry requirements to join this course however, you will need to be able to travel to various locations for some of the classes.
What you need to bring:
- A2 cartridge paper
- Soft drawing pencils (2B – 6B)
- Putty type eraser
- Craft knife
- Sharpener
- Charcoal
- Drawing ink
- Coloured chalks (including white)
- Glue sticks
- Selection of gouache paints.
